الملخص
ABSTRACT
This report deals with selecting mining site in the Hussainiyat ironstone deposits based on previous mineral investigations works in the area. The site was selected for the relatively high thickness and grade. The ironstone deposits is pisolitic in texture ( type II ), forming three large linticular bodies of ironstone. The average thickness is 5.7m , reaching up to 13.5m., and the average grade is 37.5% Fe2O3 ,the stripping ratio is about 4.1. The reserves of this site were estimated on category B by 5.4 m.t. which should be enough for the cement industry for about 10 years at an average consumption rate of about 25 000 tons / month.
