THE STUDY OF LOWRING SALINITY OF GROUND WATER IN NAHRAWAN COMPLEX .

Abstract

The total dissolved salts in the ground water of area studied as above 33810 m.g/l . Different quantites of lime have been added to one litre of the ground water ( viz , 0.7, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and 10 gms) in laboratory expernments .Results have show the reduction in salt quantites dissolved in the waters . But the addition of lime in the water has resulted in changes in the quality and characteristics of there waters . Experiments have shown that addition of 10 gms of lime to one liter of the ground water resulted in a reductor of 25 % of the dissolved salts in the water . This many to ,be considered as feasible . Therefore it is not recommended to go through with this practrice .
