الملخصAbstract Al-Fatha area considered as one of the natural pollution centers to Tigris River, because it represents a discharge zone, that is indicated by the presence of water springs bearing Oil materials and saturated with hydrogen sulphide. The reversed faults took a main role in Makhol Belt in destroyed the bed rocks bearing oil and made them as conduit channels helping in migratio of the oil material with drained ground water to the Tigris River in the form of water Springs. These pollution material helped in changing the chemical and physical charactors of Tigris River water, all of them a direct hazard on the humman and other biological live health either in water or plants, as well as the solidated bitumenous mateial cover the fluvial soil surface share in reducing the fertile agricultural zone within the fluvial plain inseperable with the river. In addition to the liquid and gas petroluim material these water springs release a high percentage of Fluorine and Strontium, but their effects vanish when they mixed with the river water. The humman activity also share with pollution of the Tigris River water and that’s by throwing the Oil waste in the depresions and abandoned quarries in the area. There are many suggestions in treating the pollution phenomina of Tigris River in Al-Fatha area.
