PREPARATION OF MONOCALCIUM PHOSPHATE FROM CALCIUM CARBONATE
الملخص
Calcium Carbonate(CaCo3) that is deposited as limestone rock fromthe southwest Al-Najaf Governoratewas reacted withphosphoric acid H3PO4to producehydrate monocalcium phosphate (MCP)CaH4 (PO4)2.H2O. This product was widely used in food production such as baking powder, animal feeds and biological processes. However, this study was carried out at various experimental condition:a liquid –solid mixing of CaO/P2O5at variant ratios (1:3, 1:5, and1:7), limestone concentration (20, 40 and 60)%/wt. vol., phosphoric acid concentrations (30, 50, 70and 85) %wt., the effect of temperatures at (25, 65, and 100) ºC, and different reaction time (5, 15, and 30) minute.
Hence, this study suggeststhat the best employ to produce monocalcium phosphate (MCP)CaH4 (PO4)2.H2Oin high purity 98% is a liquid –solid mixing in 1/5 of CaO/P2O540% limestone concentration, phosphoric acid concentration of (85) %wt., reaction temperature began at 25 ºCand reaction time 15 minute.
