| الملخص | The production of geological maps is considered one of the major products of GIS, and it has many important applications in several projects. This context was developed to adopt a scale of 1:250000 for its controls in the production of printing files for the geological mapping series of Iraqi Geological Survey.
The aim of this context is to simplify the basic principles of the Poduction of print files that are deposited in the technical library or published in the Iraqi Library and Documents.
This context used the modern technologies in ArcGIS V9.3 for the production of printed files and directing geological maps of the scale of 1:250000 in accordance with the latest technologies in the production of maps.
This context provides all the practical steps for the production of print files for geological maps, scale 1:250000, prepared in the Iraqi Geological Survey, including creating Map templates to Map Elements, creating a new ArcMap document, adding Data, coding, and creating the attributes described for labeling properties.
In this report we created several functions including the following, the Grid and Graticule, the square grid using the Measure Grid in Kilometers, the Bar scale, the scale text, the Legend, the map Title, Add Column, Adding a Lithological Colum, Add Cross section. Other functions included Add References, Add Employee Names, Issuer, Edit Year, and the date of Validation and deposit in the library.

The map produced by the Iraqi Geological Survey must bear the signatures of the certifiers, confirming that the map meets the requirements of this context and that the scientific information on the map is scientifically certified and approved in Geoserve.
