ENVIRONMENTAL AND GEOCHEMICAL STUDY OF DUST STORMS EFFECT ON GAGHDAD CITY DURIND SUMMER OF 2013
الملخص
Dust storms are well known phenomenon in Iraq, especially in the mid and south of Iraq, which is the unusual active in spring and summer .It is recurrence heavily on climatic condition in terms of rainfall which works on soil. And under tears of the current drought that has plagued Iraq and the region in general has increased this phenomenon and in the contributed of increasing the suffering of the patients in the respiratory tract as well as the creation of new disease cases in this area. The regional dust storms were studied from March 2013 through Ougust2013,
Dust samples were systematically collected from 15 stations in Baghdad, seven on Al-Resafa, eight on Al -Karkh. The samples were collected , as precipitated dust in plastic containers, The containers were placed on the roofs of houses, about 3 meter high, for 150 days in two sites , One in Rusafa and one in Karkh, After 5 months, the dust in the containers were carefully removed until the container is completely clean. The weight of the samples was determined by a sensitive digital balance and some of the heavy metal(Cr ,Ni ,Zn , Pb ,Cu ,Cd ,U ,Co,) were analyzed by using atomic absorption that harmful on human healthy which carried with dust storm. The clay minerals are recognized and identified by using XRD analyses, the results are Quartz, Calcite, Feldspar, Dolomite, and Gypsum. Table (1) .
