CALCULATION OF HYDRAULIC PARAMETERS IN CLASTIC SEDIMENTS BY USING FIEILD METHODS IN HAIDARIYA AREA/ AL-NAJAF GOVERNO

Abstract

According to the annual investment plan of Iraq Geological Survey, six wells were drilled in Al-Haidariya area within Al-Najaf governorate in order to calculate permeability by packer test and pumping test methods. There are many methods to calculate permeability in bed rock, pouring test for dry beds, pumping test for the aquifers, packer test method can be applied in dry beds and in aquifers, in this study the permeability was calculated by packer test method and pumping test in six wells, Comparing the results between these two methods showed that the permeability is comparable between the two methods, because the used tests were within the same formation and the same aquifer( Dibdibbaa Fn.).
