PRILIMIN.LABOR.TEST FOR PREPARA.OF PRECIPITED BARIUM CARBONATE&SULFUR...ETC
الملخص
The present study deals with the possiblity of Preparation of Precipitated Barium Carbonate and Sulphate from Barite ore from LEVAN area (Dohok governarate – Kurdistan region).
The study included finiding a proper technical route for the preparation of purified Barium Carbonate and Barium Sulphate , where the purity of the Laboratory prepared samples exceeds 99% .
The optimum conditions for the preparation of the precipitated Barium Carbonate and Sulphate from Barite ore ( milled to a particle size less than 75 micron) which contained about 70% BaSO4 are as follows:-
A-stage 1 (Acid washing of Barite ore)
-Concentration of washing acid (HCl): 25% (wt %)
-Ratio of washing acid to ore: 2/1(acid vol . /ore wt.)
-Reaction temperature: 102 C 0 (Boiling) .
- Reaction time: 1.5 hr
B-Stage 2 (Preparation of unpurified Barium Carbonate)
-Concentration of Sodium Carbonate solution : 45% wt.
-Quantity of Sodium Carbonate used in reaction : 200% excess the stochiometric quantity .
-Reaction temperature : 105 0C ( Boiling ) .
- Reaction time : 6 hrs
C-Stage 3 ( preparation of Barium Chloride solution ).
-Concentration of Hydrochloric acid used in reaction : 2% wt.
- Quantity of used acid : Stochiometric quantity.
-Reaction temperature : Room temperature ( 30 0C)
-Reaction time : 30min
D.stage 4
I-Preparation of Barium Carbonate from Barium Chloride solution .
-Concentration of Sodium Carbonate solution : 20% wt.
-Final PH value of reaction mixture = 8
-Reaction temperature : ≈ 30 0C ( Room temperature) .
