المؤلفABSTRACT The clasticfacies are divided to many lithofacies and sublithofacies of calcareous and gypsiferous mudstone and sandy mudstone. Sandstone lithofacies are mostly muddy calcareous sandstone. Sandstone rocks are mainly composing of quartz, feldspar,rock fragments and few heavy minerals. The depositional environment of lower part of Fatha Formation is restricted (closed lagoon) of hypersaline condition and upper part of Fatha Formation is characterized by presence of lacustrine facies.
