QUALITATIVE INTERPRETATION OF THE AIRBORNE RADIOMETRIC DATA OF RUTBA AND SABA,A EBYR QUADRANGLES USING GIS TECHNIQUE
الملخص
Comparison between total count radiometric map and geological map of the Rutba and Saba’a Ebyr area was carried out, it shows radioactivity range of each geologic formation and Quaternary sediments, the differences in the range of radioactivity of the geologic formation outcropped in the studied area, the unit and geologic formation which consist of phosphatic rocks characterized by heights radioactivity level while limestone and dolomite rocks characterized by low radioactivity level, The radiometric map of the study area was divide in to three radiometric zones according to the range of total count level of different units and geologic formations.
The total count radiometric data was analyzed and separated to its residual and regional (background) maps. The regional maps shows an increase in radiometric background towards the west, while the residual radiometric anomaly ma appear six residual radiometric anomalies distributed in the study area some of it correspond with some geologic formations (formations contain phopsphatic rock) and some of it correspond to Quaternary sediments (valley and depression area), the sources and dominant radioactive element restrict for each anomaly.
The structural and tectonic setting of the study area play an important role in forming the radiometric anomalies in the study area, there is a coincidence of radiometric anomalies (R1, R2, R3, R4, and R6) with subsurfac
