According to the annual investment plan of Iraq Geological Survey, related to the detailed geological survey project of the Al-Muthana Governorate at scale of 1:25 000 (in sheet no. NH-38-07-43), one water well was drilled in this Governorate (well no. 4), to study the hydrogeological and hydrochemical conditions of the area. Pumping test was carried out for a well, drilled within Dammam Formation to a depth of 75 m., to calculate the hydraulic coefficients of its aquifer, by using Schlumberger Aquifer Test (2011.1) Program. The results indicated that the aquifer has a transmissivity (3.35*101 m2/day), due to the presence of fractures and channels within its rocks, which gave a good discharge (432 m3/day). The results of chemical analysis carried out to a water sample collected from the well showed that the water is of moderately brackish, hard and of sulphatic type, which is not suitable for human drinking, but can be use for all animals drinking and agriculture purposes.
