HYDROGEOLOGICAL AND HYDROCHEMICAL STUDY OFWADI HAURAN AND H4 QUADRANGLE
واصفات البياناتعرض سجل المادة الكامل
The exposed rocks in Wadi Hauran and H4 Quadrangles are represented by: Rutba, Msa'd, Hartha, Tayarat, Digma, Akashat and Ratga formations, in addition to the Quaternary sediments. From the structural point of view both of the Quadrangles are located within the Stable Shelf of the Arabian Platform. Topographically the map area is relatively flat with undulated features and is intersected by valleys. The area rises gradually and gently westwards. The climate of the map area is under the conditions of arid climate, which is highly affected by desert condition. It is characterized by hot and dry summer and relatively cold winter with low rainfall. Muhaiwir, Mulussa, Ga'ara and Suffi formations represent the main aquifers within the map area. The general direction of the ground water flow in the map area west of the water di Quality of the ground water is variable. It is mainly sulphatic in the western part and chloridic in the eastern and northeastern parts with the presence of bicarbonate water mainly in the southeastern part of the map area. The ground water in the map area is classified according to the total dissolved solids into four main classes: fresh water, slightly brackish, moderately brackish and highly brackish water. About half of the wells, in the map area, have groundwater is suitable for human drinking, while it is totally suitable for live stock. The ground water can be used mostly for irrigation, building and construction and some industrial purposes. vide, at the central part, is mainly toward the west, while east of the water divide the direction of the ground water flow is from west to east.
