DETAILED GEOMAGNETIC SURVEY FOR ARCHAEOLOGICAL RESEARCH IN TEL HERMAL SITE.
الملخص
A geomagnetic survey has been performed in partially discovered archaeological site so called "Tel Hermal" in southeast of Baghdad. The goal of this work is delineation the locations and extensions of the subsurface archaeological structures. The background noise level of the site was relatively high. The main noise sources were debris (some of them ironic scrub), electrical power lines, fences, and electromagnetic waves due to communications. Accordingly, many non archaeological magnetic anomalies have been identified on the total magnetic intensity map of the study area. An archaeological remains represented by well and wall have been well recognized, at a depth 1.2 m, during excavation followed this work.
