| الملخص | This work was carried on pilot plant scale in the central laboratories of the State Company of Geological Survey and Mining, to assess the possibility of producing flat glass and foundry sand from kilo-180 sand deposit. The sand fraction (-850+150) micron obtained contains (99.03)% SiO2 and (0.07)% Fe2O3 are suitable for flat glass according to the specification B.S No.(2975)/1988.
For foundries the washed sand results obtained indicate that the sand contains (99.3)% SiO2, and (0.05)% Fe2O3, sand fraction (212-425) micron is included in class (A), it is suitable accordance with the standards Iraqi specification No. 2100 /1999.
The AFS of washed and non washed sand are 47.8 and 46.5 respectively Matched with the specification of foundry sand (45-60) used by Al-Naser general Company . | |
