This study focuses on the use of Iraqi dolomite existing in Al-Muthana Governorates to produce stable dolomite refractory brick formed by dry press at (750 Kg/cm2) and fired at (1550 °C). It was found that the addition of (3, 5, 7 wt %) iron oxide would capsulize (CaO) and (MgO) that protects doloma from further hydration to less than (5 %) . The best result gained shown increase in bulk density and compressive strength, decrease in porosity (%) and hydration (%) in sample B5 (3.03 g/cm3, 150.52 Kg/cm2, 8.08 %, 0.75 %) respectively. This is identical to standard practice specifications of which work. It is ,however, a good industrial potential for producing dolomite refractories due to the existence of its ore in Iraq, particularly in Al-Muthana and AL- Anbar Governorates.
